Job Fair

Greetings, KWCPS Families & Staff!
As I shared earlier this morning, the division experienced a Verizon telephone outage that unfortunately lasted throughout the day. Verizon technicians responded early this afternoon and resolved a major hardware malfunction; however, poor connectivity remains, and final resolution may not occur before tomorrow.
In addition, over the past several days, each of our schools has seen an increase in both student and staff illness and absenteeism. The spread of illness remains a concern, as well as the ability to ensure appropriate supervision of students in school.
To help reduce the spread of illness, and to ensure that schools have functional phone service, we are canceling school for students and teachers tomorrow, Friday, February 16. Twelve-month employees are expected to report to work as scheduled. This cancellation will permit a thorough sanitizing of classrooms, common areas, and school buses, and allow sufficient time for Verizon to resolve the phone outage. And, because there is no school on Monday, the four-day break may help all students and staff recover from any illness.
On behalf of our School Board and leadership team, we don’t make this decision lightly; however, tomorrow’s cancellation is in the best interest of student and staff safety and wellness. I apologize for any inconvenience to families, but hope that our community understands this health and safety priority.
I hope you and your family have a safe and healthy weekend ahead. Thank you for your support!

Come have your voices heard at the Special Education Advisory Committee Meeting. If you can't make the meeting email swaldron@kwcps.k12.va.us by February 26th to be set up as a virtual attendee. See you there!!!!

National Resource Officer Day! We have some of the best right here in King William! If you see a resource officer today say THANK YOU!!!!!

Good morning, Families & Staff--
The division's external phone service is temporarily down. This is an issue with Verizon and crews are expected on-site this morning to restore service. Emergency communications, as well as communication between buildings, are functional; however, until the interruption is resolved, parents will not be able to contact schools directly by phone. Please email the principal, office staff, and/or your child's teacher if there is vital information to share prior to the restoration of service this morning.
Thank you for your support!

🚔Today, we shine a spotlight on our very own hero, Sergeant Upshaw! 🌟 As our School Resource Officer, he goes above and beyond to keep our school safe and positive every day. Virginia Kindness Week

Feb. 5-9 is a time to recognize and honor the hard work and dedication of our school counselors. These professionals play a crucial role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional well-being. Their guidance and support help students navigate challenges, set goals, and reach their full potential. Thank you Ms. Finney and Ms. Washington for all you do for the students of AES!
