The Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe recently donated funds for new books to be added to Hamilton Holmes Middle School Library. The students and staff can now enjoy these extra books with many titles chosen to enhance the curriculum as well as student interest. Native American books and books about social and emotional learning, such as books on anti-bullying, getting along, friendship,p and acceptance, were also carefully selected along with a variety to enhance both fiction and nonfiction in the library. Hamilton Holmes Library would like to thank the Upper Mattaponi for such a generous gift that will be shared for not only current students but for future students as well. Books truly are the gifts that keep on giving!

First off, Hamilton Holmes Middle School would like to thank All Points Broadband for their generous donation of Sphero BOLT+ robots. Ms. van den Ende visited Mr. Broaddus's Information Technology classroom to lead a lesson with his students. The Sphero BOLT+ coding activities align with VDOE standards by encouraging students to plan, test, debug, and refine their code. Students had a great time learning basic programming and device interaction while controlling their Sphero BOLT+!

🌟 Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 🌟 Today, let's take a moment to appreciate the amazing administrative professionals who work tirelessly in our schools and at Central Office. From handling daily operations to supporting educators and students, your contributions are invaluable! 💼✨

Bus 4 was headed from KWHS to HHMS for 2nd load when a vehicle almost ran the red lights and swerved to miss the bus and ended up in the ditch. NO one is hurt and the bus was NOT hit. Thank you for your patience while the children make it home safely.

Bus 4 is running behind due to an accident on Rt. 30.
Bus 21 is running 15-20 minutes behind due to maintenance.

The 8th grade promotion is coming! This is an opportunity to recognize the hard work our students put in at HHMS and send them off to high school for the next step in their educational journey! Each student may bring 2 guests.
RSVP is required for attendees - call 804-769-3434 extension 516 to provide guest names.
We ask our students to dress nicely, but this is not a formal event such as high school graduation. The program should take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete, and afterward, there will be opportunities for photos. Parents may check out students after the ceremony to begin spring break and continue their celebration!

🚌 Today, we celebrate our amazing bus drivers for #NationalSchoolBusDriverAppreciationDay! Thank you for your dedication, safety, and for being the first and last smiling faces our students see each day. Rain or shine, you get them to and from school safely. We appreciate you for always going the extra mile! ❤️

To our invaluable public school volunteers: During National Public School Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 21st-25th), we want to acknowledge the profound impact you have on our students and staff. Whether you're helping in classrooms, organizing events, or lending your expertise, your commitment empowers us all. Thank you for making a difference that truly matters!

Mrs. Gregory's HHMS transitions class traveled to KWHS to work with the KWHS Service and Learning class for a few projects! The service and learning students took Mrs. G's class along for recycling, changing the marquee messages and some fun and games before spring break! Students from Ms. Campbell's and Ms. Funai's class took the HHMS students on a personalized tour of the high school to help the 8th graders who will be transitioning to 9th grade in the fall. Thank you to Mr. McGuckin, Ms. Welshonce, and Ms. Funai for your hospitality! It was a GREAT time!

Established by the General Assembly in 2020, VA250 serves to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Revolutionary War, and the Independence of the United States in the Commonwealth of Virginia. You, as a community member, can get a chance to see this museum at the King William County Courthouse on Saturday, April 12th.
