💚 It's National School Counselor Week! 💙 Our counselors help students improve academic performance, navigate bullying, and tackle relationship issues as well as issues at home. They listen to the students' interests, assess skills, and guide students toward their academic and career goals. Thank you Ms. Bray, Mrs. Finney, and Ms. Washington for all you do for our Cubs and Eagles!

Happy School Counselors Week! 5th grade student ambassadors and sponsors have been working hard to make sure this week doesn’t go unnoticed! We are so lucky to have our school counselors. Bring on the banners and balloons!

Safety Patrol is a leadership learning program. The members participate and lead in keeping our school a positive and safe place. Our Safety Patrol’s responsibilities include monitoring the halls to make sure all students are moving at a safe pace, helping students get to where they need to be in the hallways, and sending encouraging messages to other students in our school.

Ms. Klakos had parents sign up to read to her class. The class has enjoyed having surprise readers!

House Tatonka met and had so much fun meeting new friends from all grade levels! 6 Houses, 1 Family!

A select few teachers were able to go to Greenwood Elementary School to learn more about how to implement HOUSE into our schools! It was so informative and we can't wait to see how AES and CSPS transforms with our commitment to the HOUSE system! 6 Houses, 1 Family!

Last week, the HOH's were able to LEAD by hosting each House Meeting! Our first one went so well! We are so proud of how our HOH's have grown this year!

🍕Mrs. Jones’ 4th-grade class learned how fractions work in real-life situations by using pizza models to practice decomposing and composing fractions.🍕
Students became “pizza shop owners” and composed pizza orders. As "customers" ordered by the slice, the students used pizza models to represent how the order was put together. Next, students practiced decomposing pizza orders for their families by separating the specific slices within the order into fractions.

Mrs. Ransone's Class created survey questions and then asked each student in their classroom the answer to their question. They were super creative in their questions. Students then created bar graphs based on this data.

"Yeti or Not" 2025 is here! Mrs. Ransone's class set goals for the new school year. These goals were both academic and personal. They are ready to work hard this year to achieve their goals!

Logical Ladies Math Club had a great first week! The ladies heard from Ms. Carinell how our custodial staff relies on ratios to prepare their cleaning solutions, and matched different pitchers of lemonade to the correct ratio of lemonade mix to water. They did a great job! We look forward to seeing even more of our club members at our next meetings the week of January 28th when we explore how ratios help artists mix paint colors.
