The students in Mr. Broaddus's Information Technology class got to level up their coding skills! These promising programmers successfully earned their Hour of Code certificates by practicing block coding. They applied a variety of coding skills, as well as patience, to solve a challenge of their choice to prepare for coding robots. We can't wait to see what they do next!

EGG-CELLENT: Mrs. Gregory's class hatched eggs for the third year in a row! They learned all about chickens, chicken vocabulary, chicken care, predators, life cycles, oviparous animals, and much more! They will complete their unit on Thursday with a scavenger hunt and celebrate on Friday with a Chick-fil-A party in the class!

Today Mrs. Gregory’s class, along with Ms. Compton’s class from Acquinton Elementary, attended Education Day at The Diamond! They enjoyed watching the Flying Squirrels, learning a little about baseball, and eating lots and lots of snacks!! Go Squirrels!!! 🐿️

CODE COLLABORATION: Teamwork makes the coding dream work! Mr. Broaddus's technology fundamentals class partnered up to tackle tricky concepts like variables, debugging, and writing code. By working together, they experienced both smooth code and tricky bugs, then tackled the fun challenge of debugging each other's work!

Rising 8th graders can now apply to join TILT for the 2024-2025 school year! TILT, or "Teens Interacting and Learning Together", is a program that pairs select general education students with special education students to strengthen inclusivity for all, with an emphasis on building friendships and modeling social skills! April 4 was National Librarian Appreciation Day. Hamilton Holmes is lucky to have Mrs. Real as our Library Media Specialist to spark a love of reading, ignite curiosity, and help students on their educational journeys. We appreciate your dedication and creativity in making the library a vibrant hub for learning and exploration!

April 3rd was Paraprofessional Appreciation Day - To our incredible paraprofessionals, thank you for everything you bring to our classrooms! Your enthusiasm, creativity, and care for our students are invaluable. We're so grateful to have you on our team!
