Yesterday TILT students participated in the 3rd Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest! Groups were assembled and they practiced teamwork, communication, self-control, and worked on fine motor skills! A GREAT time was had by all!! Happy Holidays from the 2024-2025 TILT club!

Deputy Gifford from the King William County Sheriff’s Department visited Mr. Broaddus’s Career Investigations classes to discuss the pathways to becoming a police officer. Deputy Gifford has a degree in aeronautics and a degree in education with a focus on history. During the presentation, Deputy Gifford highlighted advancements in police technology, the importance of community policing, and the challenges faced by law enforcement officers today. His visit highlights Workplace Readiness Skills such as teamwork and problem solving which are essential for a career in law enforcement.
Mrs. Gregory's Transitions class went on a community based instructional trip to purchase gifts for their families at Dollar Tree and then went to McDonald's for lunch! They practiced using the dollar up method in a real world setting and also got to practice shopping, using manners, listening, working as a team, personal space, communication, budgeting, and making and using lists. Students used some of the proceeds from their weekly school coffee cart business to purchase a yummy dessert at McDonalds. Students and staff had a fantastic time and are looking forward to wrapping all the gifts next week!
