Next up in our Who’s Who at Hamilton Holmes is Ms. Marek, our counselor for students with last names M-Z! Ms. Marek is an advocate for students and supports them academically, personally, and with planning for their future. She also supports teachers and is a liaison for parents, matching their needs with resources available in our community and schools. She believes the best part of her job is helping people! I am a problem solver every day, and I love helping people! Her fun fact: she played two Division 1 college sports- soccer and volleyball.
What is one thing you wish people knew about your job? Some days are really tough emotionally when I’m helping students and parents through a crisis. It’s both humbling and rewarding to be able to help them through it.
What are you looking forward to the most this year? It’s my 30th year as a school counselor, and every year I get excited about getting to know and working with all of the students!

I enjoy building relationships with students and families, and knowing that my work behind the scenes helps keep the school running smoothly.

This one is personal this year....Watching my son go through his last year at the middle school and wishing time would slow down.

Hamilton-Holmes offers intramural sport opportunities to students who are unable to participate in JV sports at King William High School. This fall, we currently have plans for a drill team, cross country, and step team opportunities!
